Minutes for the Electors Annual Parish Meeting – 10th May 2022, 7.00pm


Present: Chairman: Jon Sebright, Clerk: Philip Edwards and 8 members of the public including Cllrs Box, Marsh and Warden and Dst Cllr Wood via video link


1. WELCOME BY CHAIRMAN

Cllr Sebright, Chairman of Temple Cloud with Cameley Parish Council opened the meeting with a welcome to everyone present.

2. APPROVAL OF MINUTES FOR THE 2021 APM

The minutes for the Annual Parish Meeting held on 4th May 2021 were approved as an accurate record.

3. CHAIRMAN’S REPORT

Cllr Sebright, Chairman of Temple Cloud with Cameley Parish Council, presented a report on the activities during the previous year, including the Christmas tree with mulled wine and mince pies and highlighted all the volunteers who support this event. Cllr Sebright thanked the councillors for their work and support of the council. Upcoming projects were reported, including work on the village hall, and funds allocated for the pump track. Activities in the village hall were highlighted, including fitness classes, yoga, birthday parties and celebrations. An invitation was extended for more events to be booked at the village hall.

4. PARISH GRANTS AWARDED IN 2021/22

The chairman reported on the following grants awarded in the 2021/22 Year:

  • Temple Cloud in Bloom: £1000
  • Clutton with Cameley PCC Grass Cutting: £450

5. UPDATES FROM RESIDENTS AND LOCAL GROUPS

Updates from residents and local groups as follows:

  1. Temple Cloud in Bloom, a report was received regarding planting this year and plans for the future.
  2. A member of the public raised questions regarding the net fence on the playing field and the potholes on playing field lane. Cllr Wood confirmed that B&NES owned playing field lane, but had not adopted the road, but would make arrangements to fill the potholes.
  3. Rockaway Park, a video was presented showing the history of Rockaway park and the current community activities with 30 craft workshops.

6. REPORT FROM DISTRICT COUNCILLOR

District Councillor David Wood gave a presentation via video link, regarding air quality improvements, money in the budget to investigate speed cameras, the liveable neighbourhoods scheme for safer walking routes in the village and safer roads including action on fly-tipping and plans for resurfacing.

7. OPEN FORUM

An open forum was held to discuss any parish affairs as determined by those present at the meeting.

8. CONCLUDING REMARKS

Concluding remarks were received from the Chairman, who closed the meeting
